The only thing I like about them is the vocals...in some songs..that Bruce Dickenson sings..
They are very entertaining live though. During the Rock in Rio dvd that they released, they had a 12-foot tall alien costume walk onto the stage. While playing the guitar solo, the guitarist slides under the alien's legs, kicks him in the crotch, slides under again, and repeats.
It amused me.

You should check it out. I'm pretty sure I can get the links two both parts of the DVD up.
I'll edit it in.

Well, it was for the people who haven't heard of the Trans-Siberean Orchestra. I didn't even watch the video, to be honest.

People seem to forget that music is down to personal preference.. Therefore no band is the 'greatest ever'. Discussions about bands should boil down to comments like 'I like because' or 'I don't like because...'
Posting 'This band is the greatests ever' doesn't really help anyone decide what to listen to.
I'm not grumpy, I'm posting this because it's been ages since I've played GW or logged on here, and I wanted to see what title I had.

That is exactly what I've been trying to tell people in the other music thread we have floating around here. "Greatest Band on the Earth" or something like that. Everytime I bring something like that up, people just tell me to shut up and refuse to believe that there is a "greatest band ever".
Your little rant is not valid in this thread, mostly becuase I have twisted it into a general music chat for the most part. That other thread, however..

Ummm well welcome back? Anyways taht is a good point. To some people the greatest band could be a band no one has heard of. I presonally like the bands Crossfade and Three Days Grace but someone else could hate them. But thats just who i like.

Maynard = Greatness, so Tool or APC should do you well.
Sorry if someone already proposed these two, I'm to lazy to read.

I have asked numerous times this question: What's the big deal about Tool?
I've mentioned that I've listened to the albums 10,000 Days, Lateralus, Undertow, and Opiate, never finding anything really special about them. Prison Sex is decent, I suppose, but where's the stuff that makes every Tool fanboy go crazy when you say something bad about it?

They are just musical masterminds, and you really should give a listen to Anema. Thats Tool at its best. (IMO)
